With Checkout Components, merchants can seamlessly integrate Reviews.io data into the checkout experience. This allows upsell components to dynamically display real review ratings and stars for products being promoted, reinforcing social proof at the exact moment of purchase.

The integration is available for all v3 upsell component types and requires no authentication tokens or API keys. Merchants using the Reviews.io Shopify app can enable it instantly within Checkout Components — no configuration complexity, just verified customer reviews enhancing buyer confidence where it matters most.

Integrations are only available to merchants on the Pro plan of the Checkout Components app.

To enable the Reviews.io integration, you will need to ensure your Shopify store has Reviews.io as an installed app, and that it is on a paid Reviews.io plan.

FAQ

I enabled this integration, but reviews are not showing?

If you enabled the Reviews.io integration and the Reviews.io app is installed on your store. You need to double check that you have turned reviews on for your desired components. You can check this by going to your components and checking if the "Show reviews on recommemdnations" toggle is enabled.

It is possible that the metafields which Reviews.io is saving to is not available to the Shopify Storefront API or they are saved in non-standard metafield keys. Reach out to support to assist you in enabling this feature.

I want to disable Reviews.io reviews from showing

You can disable Reviews.io reviews from showing by going to your components and checking if the "Show reviews on recommemdnations" toggle is enabled. If it is, you can disable it to stop Reviews.io reviews from showing.

I want to change how the reviews are displayed on my components

You can change how the reviews are displayed on your components by going to the /settings/integrations page and selecting the Reviews.io integration. From there, you can change the display settings for your Reviews.io reviews.

Note: Once you have done this, you will need to update your components to use the new settings. You can do this by simply re-saving your components.
