Checkout Components integration enables merchants to source Loox reviews to present review stars against products in the checkout. This integration is available for all upsell components and is particularly powerful for showcasing photo reviews.
The integration requires no authentication tokens or API keys, and is easily configured by merchants using the Loox app.
Integrations are only available to merchants on the Pro+ plan of the Checkout Components app.
Configuration
To enable the Loox integration, you will need to ensure your Shopify store has Loox as an installed app, and that it is on a paid Loox plan.
No API keys or authentication tokens are required - Loox reviews will automatically be available once the integration is enabled in Checkout Components settings.
FAQ
How do I know if my Loox integration is working?
When you go to create or edit an upsell component, you will see a toggle to "Show reviews on recommendations". Enable this toggle and your Loox reviews will appear on product recommendations. If you do not see reviews appearing, please ensure you are on the Pro plan of the Checkout Components app.
I enabled this integration, but reviews are not showing?
If you enabled the Loox integration and the Loox app is installed on your store, you need to double check that you have turned reviews on for your desired components. You can check this by going to your components and checking if the "Show reviews on recommendations" toggle is enabled.
It is possible that the metafields which Loox is saving to is not available to the Shopify Storefront API or they are saved in non-standard metafield keys. Reach out to support to assist you in enabling this feature.
I want to disable Loox reviews from showing
You can disable Loox reviews from showing by going to your components and checking if the "Show reviews on recommendations" toggle is enabled. If it is, you can disable it to stop Loox reviews from showing.
I want to change how the reviews are displayed on my components
You can change how the reviews are displayed on your components by going to the /settings/integrations page and selecting the Loox integration. From there, you can change the display settings for your Loox reviews.
Note: Once you have done this, you will need to update your components to use the new settings. You can do this by simply re-saving your components.
Does Loox show photo reviews at checkout?
Yes! Loox specializes in photo reviews. When customers have uploaded photos with their reviews, these can be displayed alongside star ratings on your product recommendations, providing powerful visual social proof that can increase conversion rates. You can configure photo review display settings in the Loox integration settings.
What if I don't have many reviews yet?
Loox provides automated review request features that help you quickly build up your review collection. We recommend collecting at least 10-20 reviews per product before enabling review display at checkout for the best impact.
